I am completely functionless without music,
Right now I am listening to Alicia Keyes, David Hollister, Jill Scott, Amy Winehouse and Isaac Hayes,
What a mix...
Whenever I'm writing a book,
I find myself listening to the same music a lot,
When writing Black's Obsession, Anthony Hamilton was my muse,
While penning Cinnamon's Universe, it was Floetry and Leela James,
Anthony Hamilton again took me through Brown's Possession,
Black's theme song is, "It's not that I don't love you, I just can't stop loving her..."
Stormy Cleveland, Dave Hollister and Kirk Franklin took me through,
IS NO NOT CLEAR ENOUGH FOR YOU?,
I can't remember a time in my life when music wasn't playing somewhere,
Usually in my head,
According to my co-workers, friends and family,
I sing all day long,
Not even aware of it until someone calls it to my attention...
I love music,
ALL KINDS...
Today I am going to get Kirk Franklin, Jahiem and Mary J. Blige,
There will be some nice sounds this week at Casa Menchan,
What are you listening to?
Love and Blessings,
angelia

Well since I am a true lover of Christmas music, I have been listening to Mary Mary's christmas album and Destiny Child's christmas album. Both great.
When my characters get too loud in my head I will listen to meditation music or nothing. But if it is solely for my enjoyment...Alicia Keys, Jill Scott and many others.
Music soothes the savage beast...

We have to meet one day, sis. Because we have too much in common not to. I love music and folks get annoyed with me because I will just start singing or rapping a song out of the blue. It's in my head and before you know it I'm humming and it's coming out. And for some reason I think in song. If a song pops in my head during a conversation, I will start singing the lyrics. I can't turn it off. LOL. I don't even want to think about what my life would be like without music. In the novel I'm working on now, the heroine is from LA and she's just lost her only living relative, her gangbanging brother. And I swear whenever I feel stuck, I just put on Tupac's "To Live and Die in LA" or "Pour Out Some Liquor" listen to them a few times and I'm ready to write again. Odd, but those are her theme songs. LOL.

I'm a music whore myself...lol
My kids laugh at me because as soon as I open the fridge, I sing and dance while perusing the shelves. Droppin' it like it was hot. I love the freedom music gives. Music's my first lover... poetry in motion.
Great blog... now I'm gonna go blast some Mary Jane by Rick James (the remix that is... its still on fire) and No One by Alicia Keys. I may even take it into the night with some Rachel Ferrell and Will Downing...ummm delicious...
Go Head Baby,
Don't forget to add some Teena Marie to your Rick James,
