This Christmas...

This is one of the first Christmases, I have barely shopped,
Only eleven days before Christmas and I feel absolutley no stress...
For years, especially when my kids were young,
I was usually done by the first week of December,
Having shopped for months prior,
This year however, I know exactly what I am getting for everyone and starting today,
I will leisurely to out and get it,
Stopping for a nice caramel macchiato when the mood hit,
Or maybe browsing book store aisles leisurely,
When I feel a slight bit tired I am going to come home,
Placing my feet up on my mom's ancient footstool,
Then I am going to venture out again,
I am truly enjoying this laid back approach to this lovely season,
Yesterday, I even stood in the post office with books spilling out of my arms,
Waiting to mail my latest,
And didn't once feel agitated...
I guess that is what PEACE ON EARTH is all about,
So what are you up to in these last shopping days, please share...
Love and Blessings,
angelia

I feel half like Mr. Scrooge and other half like whatever. I have not bought not even one gift for anyone. But you know when I ask my children what they want, they have no clue because truth be told they want and need for nothing.

So we are taking it in strive my mother asked for two books and that is what she shall get. For everyone else I will wish them good health for this holiday and all the holidays to come.

Good Health and love are always good wishes and prayers...write something and frame it for the babies...you are an awesome writer and it's something they can have forever, I used to get frames with things they loved...Bless You,

mama deep

This is long but I wanted to share so please bear with me. LOL

I too am relaxed and at peace this holiday season. I shop on line. I am not a mall person or a shopper by nature so on line shopping has been my choice for years now.

I am done. I sent out my Christmas cards a few days ago and purchased my last gift on Monday. Almost all of my packages have arrived and are wrapped and waiting for distribution. LOL

This year; I did not go overboard with gifts. I bought learning toys and books for the children in my family. I gave my Mama and my daughter cash two weeks ago to buy what they want. And my siblings and I always wait to exhange Kwanzaa gifts on New Year's eve at the family Kwanzaa feast right before we go to WatchNight Service at church. My church kids get books from me on that night also.

This year; my daughter and I decided to take what money we had to give and participate in our church's holiday project. Jesus is the reason for the season for us.

AGAPE House is a transitional housing program for homeless families who had lost their children to the foster care system due to homelessness. These families have now been re-united and live in apartments at AGAPE House. AGAPE House is supported by a faith-based non-profit and we are one of several area churches who do outreach ministry there throughout the year.

There are eight families in the building and we all have been assigned families to purchase gifts for. We have set up teams (our members) to decorate the building, purchase groceries so the families can prepare their own Christmas Day feast and we have provided live Christmas trees, decorations so each family can decorate their apartments and trim their tree.

This is the first Christmas many of them have been together in a long time. Our goal is to give them the resources to celebrate a real family Christmas this year.

On Friday night (Dec. 21st) we are having a Happy Birthday Jesus dinner party in our Banquet Hall where we will give the families their gifts right before we head up to the Sanctuary for an old fashioned- revival service. The only thing we require is that they join us for service after the party which they always seem to enjoy. Some of them have even joined our church and stay connected with us after they move on to permanent housing.

We feel real good about This Christmas

Idrissa wishing everyone a happy holiday season

I haven't done any shopping yet. I'm about to mail out my holiday cards today. I'm way behind this year on everything. But I'm not feeling stressed about it at all. It'll happen...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS...and hmmm I'm doing what I do everywhere...last minute shopping but I don't feel stressed because the kids are older and whatever I don't get before Christmas I will get for them later...or better yet I will give them money and they can get what they want...wrap it...put it under the tree and open it on Christmas since they already know what they want.
