What's Going ON?

It has been a bit over three years since I first published a book,
And since I entered cyberspace, so to speak,
Joining groups, talking books, making connections,
Etc.
And maybe I am missing something,
But it seems to me with all the avenues we have,
Twittering, facebooking, spacing, et al,
Many people are dropping out of the game,
Or they are simply going on to advertise or get information,
And they get out as quickly as possible,
I wonder what happened,
I can remember times when my emails would be overwhelming,
I just couldn’t keep up with the posts,
I wonder is it because people are restless and move on to the next thing?
Or is it because in many cases, it just doesn’t work the way they thought it would?
I am unsure, because I never really sold out completely to it,
I utilized it to a certain extent,
But it was a lot like reading ebooks,
It is okay in a pinch, but I need a book in my hand to treasure the experience,
And that is how I built up my base of readers,
I got out there, traveling around,
Giving away books and building up a following of interested readers,
Because I figured out pretty quickly that,
Most of us in groups were trying to do the same thing,
Sell our wares,
Which meant, in most cases,
There were more sellers than buyers,
Also, I have been reading that the high drama quotient,
Have made people drop out and move on,
Life is hard enough in reality,
Than to have to deal with unnecessary stuff…
So what is really going on?
Where is everyone these days?

Blessings!

Hmmmm.. I think you may be onto something Angelia. But as always I am late with catching the Myspace, Facebook bug. You do not hear people buzzing about it as before. Hmmmm .... :-)

Hey Angelia I think a number of folks have grown bored, tired and moved on. I'm still around everywhere...taking up space...but only in a few spots making a lot of noise...currently most of my time is spent at FB because I'm reconnecting with a lot of folks from my childhood, college days and sorority experiences. When I really want to touch base with folks I'm closest to I head to FB because I know that no matter what is going on someone will be over there for me to talk to about anything. It's my safe haven and comfort zone these days. After over years of being on the Net and networking I think I've finally arrived and I'm in a comfortable zone...but hey next year it will be something new so this too will pass (or change)...hehe...but I'm still enjoying the Net and I believe it's because I've finally learned to just go with the flow and to only fit in where it makes the most sense for me. There will always be something new...and I will probably always try it out...but I hope not to ever be a slave to any of it...well actually I can't because there's too much life still left o/side of cyber...hehe.
PS--The good thing about reorganizing is that I have more time to spend reading books and working out.

With all the avenues we have to communicate people are spread out all over the space (place). Most people will return to what worked for them best and go to that sure place where they can reconnect with the people who backed them, gave them encouragement, stability and friendship. We never really loose loyal friends and readers. For everyone we loose we somehow gain a new supporter or two. People come into our lives and leave us in time. We get and give from one another what is needed and then continue on. Never is there a shortage if you are in the right place. Isn't life grand?
